Arnaud is the founder and scientific coordinator of Sustainability Transitions Collective. He is an Associate Professor at Université Clermont Auvergne, in the Centre for Studies and Research on International Development (CERDI). Arnaud’s research focuses on Economic Modelling, History of Ideas and Economic Facts, Agricultural Innovations and Education for Sustainable Development. He is also engaged in the Post-Growth Institute’s activities. Arnaud is a core member of ERASME’s management team.

Paul Ekins has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of London and is Professor of Resources and Environmental Policy at the UCL Institute for Sustainable Resources, University College London. From 2004-2014 he was a Co-Director of the UK Energy Research Centre, and from 2014-19 its Deputy Director, leading on its Energy Resources theme, with research publications on low-carbon futures, fossil fuels and hydrogen. In addition, he is a member of UNEP's International Resource Panel and was a lead author on its publications on resource efficiency and mineral resource governance. From 2005-10 he was Chairman of the Government-funded National Industrial Symbiosis Programme (NISP), the UK’s most successful programme to improve resource productivity. From 2002-2008 he was a Member of the Royal Commission on Environmental Pollution. From 1997-2005 he was a specialist adviser to the Environmental Audit Committee of the House of Commons, from 2003-2007 was a Member of the Government’s Sustainable Energy Policy Advisory Board, and in 2007 was a Specialist Adviser to the Joint Parliamentary Committee on the Climate Change Bill. He has extensive experience consulting for business, government and international organisations, which has included over 50 projects and consultancies over the last ten years, and many advisory positions. From 2003-17 he was a member, and then Chairman, of the Judging Panel, UK Ashden Sustainable Energy Awards, and he is on the Judging Panel of the Rushlight Awards. He was a member in 2010-11 of two Ministerial Advisory Panels, on the Green Deal (DECC) and on the Natural Environment White Paper (DEFRA), and was also on the Advisory Board of DECC's Energy Efficiency Deployment Office. In 2011 he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the DG Environment Commissioner’s High-Level Economists Expert Group on Resource Efficiency and a member of the European Commission's high-level European Resource Efficiency Platform. From 2015-18 he was a member of the European Commission's High-Level Panel on the European Decarbonisation Pathways Initiative. From 2017-19 he was Co-Chair of UN Environment's sixth edition of the Global Environment Outlook (GEO-6), following the publication of which he was Co-Chair of UNEP's GEO-for-Business initiative. He was also Co-Chair of the Green Growth Knowledge Platform (GGKP)'s Research Committee on Natural Capital. He has been a member of UNEP's International Resource Panel (IRP) sine 2013, and was the lead author in 2017 of the G7-commissioned report on resource efficiency. He was a co-author in 2020 of IRP's report on Mineral Resource Governance, and is the Coordinating Lead Author of the report on Financing Critical Minerals for Sustainable Development, to be published in 2024. His new book, Stopping Climate Change: Policies for Real Zero, will be published by Routledge at the end of November 2023. In 1994 Paul Ekins received a Global 500 Award ‘for outstanding environmental achievement’ from the United Nations Environment Programme. In 2015 he was awarded an OBE in the UK's New Year's Honours List for services to environmental policy. in 2015 he was also awarded an Hon. DSc from Keele University.

Prof. Mohsen has strong knowledge and hands on experience in institutional and program accreditation and quality assurance systems of several countries including USA, UAE, Kuwait and Jordan. Currently, he is the President at the American International University in Kuwait. Before, he was the founding Dean of the School of Engineering at the American University of Ras Al Khaimah in the United Arab Emirates. Professor of Mechanical Engineering and Dean of Research and Graduate Studies at the Hashemite University in Jordan. He is managing multi-disciplinary projects activities that are specialized in Energy, Renewable Energy, Water Desalination, Environment, Capacity Building, Exchange of Staff and Students, Programs Development and Gender Issues, all these projects are funded by International Agencies such as European Commission (FP7, Life, Tempus, Erasmus Mundus), NATO (Science for Peace and Security Program), MEDRC (Middle East Desalination Research Center), and CIDA (The Canadian International Development Agency).
Prof. Mohsen is one of the directors of The International Association for Sharing Knowledge and Sustainability (IASKS), which is registered in Nova Scotia, Canada. IASKS brings together expertise, experience and views of research institutes in developing and developed countries working in the field of sustainable development.
Also, Prof. Mohsen is a member of the Scientific Board of the Sharing Knowledge Foundation, Geneva. The Foundation sets itself the following goals: To encourage a dialogue between scientists coming from North, East and South shores of the Mediterranean. To build a network from within the Civil Society dedicated to realizing concrete projects contributing to a sustainable development. To contribute to the reduction of the disparities and the imbalance between nations.

Biography:

I am Senior Lecturer in the School of Art, Design and Architecture at De Montfort University in the UK. My research is broadly concerned with design and sustainability, with a focus on upcycling, circular economy and net zero. I have research interests and expertise in sustainable design, craft, production, business, supply chains, behaviour, consumption and lifestyles. My research uses design as a tool for new product development, service innovation, behaviour change, scaling up niche sustainable practices/behaviours, and transitioning to the circular economy and net zero. I have published over thirty peer-reviewed journal articles, conference proceedings and book chapters in my field with high-impact journals and high-quality publishers. I am interested in supervising PhD students.
