The concept of industrial ecology with its main aim of advancing human
and planetary wellbeing has gained a lot of public interest over the past few
decades. However, the challenges to sustain human industry and its impacts are continuing
to grow.
The spatial scale at which industrial ecology interventions are
implemented will play a major role in achieving the sustainable development goals
and our ambition for a pollution-free world. A robust analysis of newly
developed tools and methods and their implementation across multiple sectors
and scales is critically important to advance the beneficial implementation of
industrial ecology goals in society.
The aim of this Industrial Ecology Conference – IIECON-2025 – is to bring together researchers studying industrial ecology and its allied
fields to share emerging scientific methodologies, latest industrial processes,
new analytical tools and key insights that are critical to advance beneficial
implementation of sustainable industrial development. The conference's theme this year is 'Encouraging Innovation to Enhance Environmental Sustainability'.
The conference mainly focuses on environmental impacts of industrial
production processes by tracking and analyzing resource use and flows of
industrial products, consumer products, and wastes. It will further highlight
advances in green technologies including renewable energy, economics and
sustainability and the future of nuclear energy. It will bring together both young
leaders and seasoned investigators who are at the forefront of their field. IIECON-2025 provides opportunities for budding researchers and graduate students to present
their work in short talks and posters and exchange ideas with leaders in the
field, across academia and industry.
